How to keep your Sky Trade account secure

Practical security for your Sky Trade account: a unique password, a protected email, spotting phishing and fake sites, and what the platform does for you.

By Sky Trade editorial teamUpdated 4 min read

Your Sky Trade account is protected by two things: your password and your email inbox. Sky Trade currently has no two-factor login, so those two deserve real care. This page covers the habits that matter most, how to recognise phishing, and what the platform itself does to protect your balance.

1. Use a unique, strong password

Sky Trade rejects passwords shorter than 8 characters, common passwords and passwords that contain your email name. That is the floor, not the goal.

  • Use a password you have never used anywhere else. When another site leaks its passwords, attackers try the same email and password everywhere.
  • Longer beats clever. Four or five random words, or a 16-character string from a password manager, is far stronger than "Trade2026!".
  • Store it in a password manager rather than in notes, screenshots or chat messages.

2. Protect your email account

Password resets go to your email, and the reset link is valid for 1 hour. Anyone who controls your inbox can take over your Sky Trade account. So:

  • give your email its own strong, unique password;
  • turn on the two-step login your email provider offers;
  • check your email's recovery phone number and backup address are still yours;
  • be suspicious of a password-reset email from Sky Trade that you did not request — it may mean someone is trying your account.

3. Recognise phishing

Phishing means a fake page or message that tries to get your password or your money. Some rules that cover almost every case:

  • The real addresses are sky-trade.org for the platform and partners.sky-trade.org for the partner program. Look-alike addresses with extra words, hyphens or swapped letters are not Sky Trade.
  • Support never asks for your password. Not in the live chat, not anywhere. Anyone asking for it is not Sky Trade, however official they look.
  • No official store app exists. Any "Sky Trade" app in an app store, or an APK file, is fake. See install the app.
  • Deposit only to the address shown in your own wallet. Every deposit gets its own address in your account. An address sent to you by a "manager" in a messenger is not a Sky Trade deposit address.
  • Nobody can "unlock" a withdrawal for a fee. If someone asks you to pay to release your funds, it is a scam.

Bookmark sky-trade.org and log in from the bookmark. It is the simplest protection against fake links in ads and messages.

4. Be careful with shared devices

  • Do not save your password in the browser of a shared or public computer.
  • Use a private window there and close it when you are done.
  • A session lasts up to 30 days, so on your own devices keep the screen lock on.

What the platform does

MeasureWhat it protects against
HTTPS/TLS on the whole siteSomeone reading your traffic on public Wi-Fi
Passwords stored as bcrypt hashesA database leak revealing readable passwords
Cloudflare Turnstile captcha and rate limits on sign-up and loginAutomated password guessing
Password re-entry on every withdrawalSomeone using an open session to withdraw
24-hour hold on a new withdrawal addressA thief adding their own address and withdrawing at once

The hold gives you time: if you see a withdrawal address you did not add, or a request you did not make, contact support immediately. Withdrawals are also reviewed manually — see how withdrawals work.

If you think your account is compromised

  1. Reset your password using Forgot password? on the login page.
  2. Secure your email account: change its password and review its recent sign-ins.
  3. Write to support in the live chat, describe what you noticed, and check your wallet for withdrawal requests you did not create.
  4. Change the password on any other site where you used the same one.

Related: login problems, verification and KYC, and delete account if you want to close the account altogether.

Frequently asked questions

Does Sky Trade have two-factor authentication?

Not currently. Protect your account with a strong, unique password and a well-secured email account with its own two-step login.

What is the official Sky Trade website?

sky-trade.org. The partner program is at partners.sky-trade.org. Other addresses are not Sky Trade.

Will Sky Trade support ever ask for my password?

No. Support never asks for your password. Anyone who does is not Sky Trade.

Someone contacted me offering to manage my Sky Trade account. Is that real?

Treat it as a scam. Never share your password or send money to an address that is not shown in your own wallet.

Why is there a 24-hour hold on my new withdrawal address?

It is a security measure. If someone got into your account and added their own address, the hold gives you time to notice and contact support.
