Wagering requirement

The trading volume you must complete before a bonus becomes withdrawable — usually the bonus amount times a multiplier, such as ×30.

By Sky Trade editorial teamUpdated

A wagering (turnover) requirement is the condition attached to a bonus: before the bonus turns into money you can withdraw, you must trade a total volume equal to the bonus multiplied by a set factor. Turnover counts the stakes of qualifying trades, not the profit.

Why it matters: a bonus is not free money. A ×30 requirement on a $20 bonus means $600 of trading volume. Since every fixed-payout trade carries a built-in cost, meeting a requirement with trades you wouldn't otherwise take can cost more than the bonus is worth. Reading the conditions before accepting is the minimum.

At Sky Trade:

  • the default multiplier is ×30; bonuses from level promo codes carry ×50 to ×100;
  • only real trades that end in a win or a loss count — ties, cancelled trades, safe trades and simultaneous opposite trades on the same pair don't;
  • one bonus can be active at a time;
  • with an active bonus you can withdraw your balance minus the bonus, and withdrawing more requires giving the bonus up, which removes it from the balance.

See bonuses and promo codes and how withdrawals work; for the cost of each trade, see the break-even win rate.

Example

A $50 bonus at ×30 requires $1,500 of qualifying turnover — for instance 150 trades of $10 that end in a win or a loss. A trade that ends in a tie adds nothing to the count.
