A stablecoin issued by Tether that aims to hold a value of one US dollar; it is widely used to fund accounts with crypto.

USDT, or Tether, is a stablecoin: a crypto token designed to track the US dollar one to one. It exists on many blockchains at once, so “USDT” can be sent over Tron (TRC-20), BNB Chain (BEP-20), Ethereum (ERC-20), TON and others. Each version lives on its own network, and sending on one network to an address expecting another is the classic way to lose funds.

Stablecoins are popular for deposits because their value barely moves while a transfer is in transit, unlike BTC or ETH. Still, stable is a design goal, not a law of nature: a stablecoin depends on its issuer's reserves and can briefly trade slightly away from $1.

At Sky Trade, deposits are crypto only and go through the payment processor NOWPayments. USDT can be deposited in 8 networks: BEP-20, TRC-20, TON, Solana, Polygon, Arbitrum One, Avalanche C-Chain and ERC-20. The minimum is $10 on most networks, $15 for TRC-20 and $20 on ERC-20. Sky Trade charges no deposit fee; the network fee is paid by the sender.

Example

You buy 50 USDT on an exchange and withdraw it over TRC-20 to your Sky Trade deposit address. The exchange deducts its own withdrawal fee, and the amount that actually arrives is credited once the network confirms it.
