P2P (peer-to-peer) trading

Buying or selling crypto directly with another person through an exchange's marketplace, often paying by local bank transfer.

P2P marketplaces let individuals trade crypto with each other, usually for local currency. Sellers post offers — price, limits and accepted payment methods — and buyers pick one. The exchange holds the seller's crypto in escrow until the seller confirms receiving your payment, then releases it to you.

For many people P2P is the easiest way to get USDT with a local bank transfer or payment app. A few habits keep it safe:

  • trade only through the exchange's own P2P interface, never off-platform;
  • check the counterparty's completion rate and number of trades;
  • pay exactly the amount shown, from an account in your own name, and keep proof;
  • never mark an order as paid before you have actually paid.

P2P prices include the seller's margin, so the rate may be slightly worse than on the exchange's main market. Exchanges also require their own identity verification before you can use P2P.

Sky Trade doesn't process bank cards. Its wallet suggests buying USDT on an exchange such as Binance, Bybit, OKX or Bitget, including via P2P, and then sending it to your deposit address. Guides: how to buy USDT and how to deposit.

Example

You buy 60 USDT through a P2P offer priced about 2% above the market rate and pay by bank transfer. The seller confirms, the exchange releases 60 USDT to you, and you withdraw it over BEP-20 to your deposit address.
