Is Sky Trade safe? An honest look at what it is and isn't

What Sky Trade is, what it is not, how deposits and withdrawals work, which security measures exist and what the real risk of trading is.

"Safe" means two different things here: is the platform honest about how it works, and is the activity itself low-risk. The short version: Sky Trade has real security measures and clear rules, but it is not a licensed financial firm, and short-term trading is a high-risk activity where most people lose money.

What Sky Trade is

Sky Trade is a web trading terminal for short-expiry Higher/Lower trades — a fixed-payout product often called digital or binary options. You pick an instrument, a stake, an expiry time and a direction. If the price at expiry is beyond the entry price in your direction, you get your stake back plus the payout percentage; if not, you lose the stake. You can never lose more than the stake of a single trade. How it works in detail: how Higher/Lower trades work.

What Sky Trade is not

We would rather you hear this from us than discover it later:

  • Sky Trade does not hold a financial-services licence and is not supervised by any financial regulator.
  • No company name or jurisdiction is published on the site.
  • There is no insurance, no compensation scheme and no claim of segregated client funds.
  • Fixed-payout short-term options are banned or restricted for retail clients in many countries, including the EU/EEA, the UK, the US and Australia. You are responsible for checking whether using a service like this is legal where you live.

If any of these points is a deal-breaker for you, that is a reasonable decision.

How your money moves

Deposits are crypto only, processed by the payment provider NOWPayments. Each deposit gets its own address and exact amount, and is credited automatically once the blockchain network confirms the transfer. Details: how to deposit.

Withdrawals require a confirmed email and your account password on every request. Every withdrawal is reviewed and paid manually by the Sky Trade team, and we do not publish a fixed processing time. The amount is reserved from your balance when you create the request and returned if the request is rejected. Details: how withdrawals work.

Security measures actually in place

  • Site traffic is encrypted with HTTPS/TLS.
  • Passwords are stored as bcrypt hashes, not in readable form; weak and common passwords are rejected.
  • Sign-up and login are protected by a Cloudflare Turnstile captcha and rate limits.
  • Every withdrawal request asks for your password again.
  • A new withdrawal address is put on a 24-hour hold before it can be used.

There is currently no two-factor authentication, so your password and the security of your email account matter a lot. See account security.

Prices: what is real and what is generated

Sky Trade offers 21 market forex pairs with real interbank quotes and 38 OTC instruments. OTC prices are generated by Sky Trade's own server. They do not come from any exchange or bank and do not follow the real market of the same name — "BTC/USD OTC" does not track the real Bitcoin price. Read more in OTC explained.

The real risk: the maths, not the website

Even on a perfectly fair platform, this product is hard to beat. The payout is always below 100%, so you need to win more than half your trades just to break even. Example: at an 80% payout a win earns $8 on a $10 stake and a loss costs $10, so you need to win about 55.6% of trades to stay flat. Most short-term traders lose money over time. The break-even win rate and why most beginners lose explain why.

Trading involves a risk of losing capital. Prices can move against your position and you can lose the full amount of a trade. Trade only with money you can afford to lose.

How to start more safely

  1. Practise on the demo account first: every account has $10,000 in virtual money, and you can try the guest demo without registering.
  2. If you go real, start with a small amount and a fixed risk per trade.
  3. Never trade with borrowed money, savings you need, or money meant for bills.
  4. Make a small test withdrawal early so you know the process.

Frequently asked questions

Is Sky Trade legit or a scam?

Sky Trade is a working platform with published rules, real security measures and manual withdrawal review. It is also unlicensed, publishes no company or jurisdiction, and offers a product banned for retail clients in many countries. Weigh both sides and check your local law.

Is Sky Trade regulated?

No. Sky Trade does not hold a financial-services licence and is not supervised by a financial regulator, and there is no compensation scheme.

Can I lose more than I deposit?

No. Each trade can lose at most its stake, so you cannot go below zero. You can, however, lose your entire balance.

Are OTC prices real market prices?

No. OTC prices are generated by Sky Trade's server and do not follow any real market. Only the market forex pairs use real quotes.

How long do withdrawals take?

Every withdrawal is reviewed manually and there is no promised processing time. Using the correct network and address helps avoid delays.
