About USD/SEK
USD/SEK is offered on Sky Trade only as OTC. Its price is generated by Sky Trade's server 24/7 and does not track the real US dollar–Swedish krona rate; the background below describes the real pair for context.
In the real market USD/SEK shows how many Swedish kronor one US dollar buys — 10.50 would mean 1 USD = 10.50 SEK — with a pip of 0.0001; Sky Trade displays four decimals. The krona is managed by Sveriges Riksbank, founded in 1668 and usually described as the oldest central bank in the world. Sweden is an open, export-oriented economy known for industrial goods such as machinery, vehicles and telecom equipment, so the krona is sensitive to the health of European and global demand. As a small currency it tends to weaken when investors retreat from risk and to recover when global growth looks solid. Because Sweden trades mostly with Europe, the real USD/SEK often behaves like a blend of an inverted EUR/USD and EUR/SEK. Riksbank decisions, Swedish inflation and US data such as non-farm payrolls are the usual catalysts.
On Sky Trade's OTC chart none of these factors apply. Ticks arrive every half-second from a model in which the next step is a coin flip in direction, while volatility changes gradually. Swedish news, Fed decisions or a strong dollar elsewhere will not show up in USD/SEK OTC.
How to trade USD/SEK on Sky Trade
- 1Open the terminal and choose the demo account to practise, or the real account if you have deposited.
- 2Pick USD/SEK in the instrument list — the market and OTC versions are listed separately, each with its current payout.
- 3Set the stake and the expiry: a duration (for example 1 minute) or an exact closing time.
- 4Press Buy if you expect the price at expiry to be above the entry price (a “higher” trade), or Sell if you expect it below (a “lower” trade). The payout is fixed at the moment you open.
- 5At expiry the server compares the closing price with the entry price: in your direction — stake plus payout; against you — the stake is lost; exactly equal — the stake is refunded.
Frequently asked questions
What is the payout on USD/SEK at Sky Trade?
USD/SEK pays 84–94% of the stake on a winning trade; 94% applies when it is one of the two rotating OTC leaders. The terminal shows the current value before you open a trade, and it stays fixed for that trade.
When can I trade USD/SEK?
USD/SEK is available on Sky Trade only as an OTC instrument, so it can be traded 24/7, including weekends and holidays.
Does USD/SEK OTC follow the real market?
No. The OTC price is generated by Sky Trade's server with a random-walk model and is not taken from any bank or exchange, so it can differ from the real USD/SEK rate at any moment.
What is the minimum stake and expiry for USD/SEK?
The minimum stake is $1 and the maximum is $50,000 (default limits). Expiry ranges from 5 seconds on OTC and 30 seconds on market pairs up to 4 hours.
Who manages the Swedish krona?
Sveriges Riksbank, Sweden's central bank, founded in 1668. It sets the policy rate and publishes its decisions on scheduled dates.
Does USD/SEK OTC move with the real EUR/USD?
No. The real USD/SEK is closely related to EUR/USD, but the OTC instrument is generated by Sky Trade's server and has no link to the real market.
