About NZD/CHF
NZD/CHF is available on Sky Trade only as an OTC instrument, generated by Sky Trade's server around the clock. It is not the real New Zealand dollar–Swiss franc rate and does not follow it; the background below is for context.
In the real market NZD/CHF shows how many Swiss francs one New Zealand dollar buys — 0.54 would mean 1 NZD = 0.54 CHF — with a pip of 0.0001. It pairs a small, commodity-linked, risk-sensitive currency with one of the world's main safe havens. The kiwi depends on dairy and agricultural exports and on demand from China and Australia, with policy set by the Reserve Bank of New Zealand. The franc tends to attract capital in times of stress and is managed by the Swiss National Bank. As a result the real NZD/CHF tends to rise when markets are optimistic and fall when investors run for cover. It is one of the less traded crosses, with New Zealand news arriving in the Asia-Pacific morning and Swiss news in European hours.
NZD/CHF OTC lives in its own world. Sky Trade's model generates a tick every half-second, with up and down equally probable and no drift in either direction. Global mood, dairy prices and SNB statements have no bearing on it.
How to trade NZD/CHF on Sky Trade
- 1Open the terminal and choose the demo account to practise, or the real account if you have deposited.
- 2Pick NZD/CHF in the instrument list — the market and OTC versions are listed separately, each with its current payout.
- 3Set the stake and the expiry: a duration (for example 1 minute) or an exact closing time.
- 4Press Buy if you expect the price at expiry to be above the entry price (a “higher” trade), or Sell if you expect it below (a “lower” trade). The payout is fixed at the moment you open.
- 5At expiry the server compares the closing price with the entry price: in your direction — stake plus payout; against you — the stake is lost; exactly equal — the stake is refunded.
Frequently asked questions
What is the payout on NZD/CHF at Sky Trade?
NZD/CHF pays 57–94% of the stake on a winning trade; 94% applies when it is one of the two rotating OTC leaders. The terminal shows the current value before you open a trade, and it stays fixed for that trade.
When can I trade NZD/CHF?
NZD/CHF is available on Sky Trade only as an OTC instrument, so it can be traded 24/7, including weekends and holidays.
Does NZD/CHF OTC follow the real market?
No. The OTC price is generated by Sky Trade's server with a random-walk model and is not taken from any bank or exchange, so it can differ from the real NZD/CHF rate at any moment.
What is the minimum stake and expiry for NZD/CHF?
The minimum stake is $1 and the maximum is $50,000 (default limits). Expiry ranges from 5 seconds on OTC and 30 seconds on market pairs up to 4 hours.
What drives the real NZD/CHF?
Mainly risk sentiment, New Zealand's export prices such as dairy, and the policy gap between the RBNZ and the SNB.
Can news help me trade NZD/CHF OTC?
No. The OTC price is generated by Sky Trade's server, so news about New Zealand or Switzerland has no effect on it.
