EUR/AUD OTC is a separate price series generated by Sky Trade's server. It does not follow the real EUR/AUD exchange rate.
About EUR/AUD
EUR/AUD shows how many Australian dollars one euro buys: 1.64000 means 1 EUR = 1.64 AUD. The pip is 0.0001. It is a cross that pits a large, diversified economy against a commodity exporter, and that contrast explains most of its behaviour.
The Australian side carries the commodity and China story: iron ore, coal and gas exports, Chinese demand, and the Reserve Bank of Australia's rate decisions. The euro side brings ECB policy and euro-area data. When global growth worries rise, the aussie usually weakens more than the euro, so EUR/AUD often climbs during risk-off episodes and drifts lower when markets are upbeat. Australian employment and inflation reports, Chinese PMIs and trade data, and ECB meetings are the main scheduled catalysts.
The pair has two lively windows. The Asian session brings Australian and Chinese releases, and the London open adds European flows; the handover between the two is often when EUR/AUD moves most. By the late US afternoon, with Sydney not yet open and Europe gone home, it tends to go quiet.
EUR/AUD OTC, the second version on Sky Trade, is a separate generated series — produced by the server 24/7 and indifferent to Chinese data or the RBA.
How to trade EUR/AUD on Sky Trade
- 1Open the terminal and choose the demo account to practise, or the real account if you have deposited.
- 2Pick EUR/AUD in the instrument list — the market and OTC versions are listed separately, each with its current payout.
- 3Set the stake and the expiry: a duration (for example 1 minute) or an exact closing time.
- 4Press Buy if you expect the price at expiry to be above the entry price (a “higher” trade), or Sell if you expect it below (a “lower” trade). The payout is fixed at the moment you open.
- 5At expiry the server compares the closing price with the entry price: in your direction — stake plus payout; against you — the stake is lost; exactly equal — the stake is refunded.
Frequently asked questions
What is the payout on EUR/AUD at Sky Trade?
The market version of EUR/AUD pays 70–82% and the OTC version 86–94% of the stake on a winning trade. The exact value changes slowly over time; the terminal shows it before you open a trade, and it stays fixed for that trade.
When can I trade EUR/AUD?
The market version of EUR/AUD is available Monday to Friday while the forex market is open and real quotes are arriving. The OTC version is available 24/7, including weekends.
Does EUR/AUD OTC follow the real market?
No. The OTC price is generated by Sky Trade's server with a random-walk model and is not taken from any bank or exchange, so it can differ from the real EUR/AUD rate at any moment.
What is the minimum stake and expiry for EUR/AUD?
The minimum stake is $1 and the maximum is $50,000 (default limits). Expiry ranges from 5 seconds on OTC and 30 seconds on market pairs up to 4 hours.
What moves EUR/AUD?
Mainly the gap between ECB and RBA policy, Australian jobs and inflation data, Chinese economic releases and the general mood of markets.
Why does EUR/AUD often rise when markets are nervous?
The Australian dollar is sensitive to global growth and risk appetite, so it tends to fall harder than the euro in a sell-off. Because the AUD is the quote currency, that pushes EUR/AUD up.
