About CHF/NOK
CHF/NOK exists on Sky Trade only as an OTC instrument. Sky Trade's server generates its price around the clock; it is not sourced from any market and does not track the real Swiss franc–Norwegian krone rate. The real-world description below is background, not a forecasting tool.
In the real market CHF/NOK shows how many Norwegian kroner one Swiss franc buys — 12.00 would mean 1 CHF = 12.00 NOK — with a pip of 0.0001 and four decimals on Sky Trade. It is a lightly traded cross between two non-euro European currencies with opposite characters. The franc, managed by the Swiss National Bank, is a safe haven that tends to strengthen when markets are stressed. The krone, managed by Norges Bank, is tied to North Sea oil and gas and to risk appetite, and tends to weaken when investors turn cautious. In the real world CHF/NOK therefore often rises in sell-offs and when oil falls, and slips when oil and markets are strong. European hours are the natural trading window for both.
The OTC chart does not respond to any of it. Its price is produced by a model with a new tick every half-second and an equal chance of an up or down step; volatility drifts slowly between calmer and busier phases. Nothing in the oil market or in Swiss policy can tell you what CHF/NOK OTC will do next.
How to trade CHF/NOK on Sky Trade
- 1Open the terminal and choose the demo account to practise, or the real account if you have deposited.
- 2Pick CHF/NOK in the instrument list — the market and OTC versions are listed separately, each with its current payout.
- 3Set the stake and the expiry: a duration (for example 1 minute) or an exact closing time.
- 4Press Buy if you expect the price at expiry to be above the entry price (a “higher” trade), or Sell if you expect it below (a “lower” trade). The payout is fixed at the moment you open.
- 5At expiry the server compares the closing price with the entry price: in your direction — stake plus payout; against you — the stake is lost; exactly equal — the stake is refunded.
Frequently asked questions
What is the payout on CHF/NOK at Sky Trade?
CHF/NOK pays 74–94% of the stake on a winning trade; 94% applies when it is one of the two rotating OTC leaders. The terminal shows the current value before you open a trade, and it stays fixed for that trade.
When can I trade CHF/NOK?
CHF/NOK is available on Sky Trade only as an OTC instrument, so it can be traded 24/7, including weekends and holidays.
Does CHF/NOK OTC follow the real market?
No. The OTC price is generated by Sky Trade's server with a random-walk model and is not taken from any bank or exchange, so it can differ from the real CHF/NOK rate at any moment.
What is the minimum stake and expiry for CHF/NOK?
The minimum stake is $1 and the maximum is $50,000 (default limits). Expiry ranges from 5 seconds on OTC and 30 seconds on market pairs up to 4 hours.
Why would the real CHF/NOK rise in a market sell-off?
The franc tends to gain as a safe haven, while the krone, as a small oil-linked currency, tends to weaken. Both effects push the real pair up.
Is CHF/NOK OTC linked to oil prices?
No. Only the real krone is sensitive to oil; the OTC price on Sky Trade is generated by the server.
