How to buy USDT on Bybit P2P: filters, advertisers and deposit

On Bybit P2P you buy USDT from another person and pay them through a local method, while Bybit keeps the seller's USDT in escrow until the payment is confirmed. The mechanics are similar to any P2P marketplace; the real skill is in filtering the list of ads so you only ever see sellers worth dealing with. This guide focuses on that, then covers the transfer to Sky Trade.

What you need

• A Bybit account that has passed Bybit's identity verification.
• A payment method registered in your name. Bybit generally lets you save your payment methods in the P2P settings in advance, which makes ordering faster and filters cleaner.
• A Sky Trade account. Sky Trade currently has no identity verification of its own; you confirm your email, which is required for withdrawals.

Filter first, compare second

A raw list of ads mixes experienced sellers with brand-new accounts. Use the filters before you look at prices:

1. Fiat currency and USDT on the buy side.
2. Amount. Enter what you plan to spend so the list hides ads with minimums or maximums that don't fit.
3. Payment method. Choose the exact method you will pay with. An ad that doesn't list your method is not an option, however good the price.
4. Verified or certified advertisers, if the filter is available for your region. This narrows the list to sellers the platform has marked as established.

Placing and paying the order

After you confirm the amount, the order opens with a countdown and the seller's USDT is held in escrow. The order shows the payment details.

• Compare the account holder's name with the advertiser's verified name. They should match.
• Pay the exact amount from your own account using the selected method.
• Keep to the platform's rules for the transfer reference; don't add phrases the seller dictates outside those rules.
• Only after the money has left your account, mark the order as paid. Marking an unpaid order as paid is treated as a serious violation on P2P platforms.

When the seller confirms receipt, the USDT is released to your Bybit account used for P2P (commonly the Funding account).

When the seller goes quiet

Sellers sometimes take a while — they are people checking a banking app. If the release time passes, write in the order chat. If there's still no response, open an appeal in the order. Bybit's support team looks at the order history, chat and payment proof, so upload a clear screenshot or statement of your transfer. Do not cancel a paid order: cancellation sends the escrowed USDT back to the seller.

Moving the USDT to Sky Trade

In Sky Trade, open the Wallet and create a USDT deposit. Choose the network first, because the address depends on it.

BEP-20, TRC-20 and TON are the suggested options; Solana, Polygon, Arbitrum One and Avalanche C-Chain are accepted too. The deposit gets its own address, exact amount and QR code, and stays valid for 60 minutes.

In Bybit, start a USDT withdrawal, select the same network, paste the address or scan the QR, and check the amount that will arrive after Bybit's withdrawal fee.
