How to buy USDT

How to buy USDT on Bitso and withdraw it to Sky Trade

Verify a Bitso account, fund it in local currency (for example via SPEI in Mexico), buy USDT and withdraw on a network that Sky Trade also accepts.

Bitso is a cryptocurrency exchange operating in Latin America, including Mexico and Argentina. Unlike P2P marketplaces, you don't deal with an individual seller: you fund your Bitso account in local currency, buy USDT from the exchange's market, and withdraw it to an external address. The one step that needs real attention is the last one — the network.

Bitso sets its own verification requirements, fees, limits and the list of supported assets and networks. Check them in the Bitso app for your country before you start; this guide stays general on purpose.

Step 1: open and verify the account

Create an account and complete Bitso's identity verification. Expect to provide an ID document and personal details; the exact requirements and the verification levels depend on your country and on how much you plan to deposit. Funding and withdrawals are usually unavailable, or limited, until verification is complete.

Sky Trade currently doesn't ask for identity verification, so Bitso's check is the only one in this chain.

Step 2: fund the account in local currency

Open the deposit section for your currency and follow the instructions Bitso shows.

  • Mexico: deposits in pesos are commonly made by SPEI bank transfer. Bitso gives you a CLABE to send to from your bank app.
  • Other countries: Bitso shows the local methods available for your account.

Send from a bank account in your own name. Transfers from third-party accounts are typically rejected or returned, which costs time. Wait until the balance appears in Bitso before moving on.

Step 3: buy USDT

Use the exchange's buy or convert screen, or the order book if you prefer to place a limit order. A simple market purchase is fine for small amounts; a limit order lets you set the price you're willing to pay. Either way, the screen shows the price and the fee before you confirm — read both.

Buy a little more than the deposit you plan to make. The withdrawal fee is usually deducted from the USDT you send, and you want the amount that arrives at Sky Trade to cover the full deposit.

Step 4: find a network that both sides support

This is the step people get wrong. A USDT balance can be sent on several blockchains, but each exchange supports only some of them for withdrawals, and the list changes from time to time.

Sky Trade accepts USDT on these networks: BEP-20 (BNB Chain), TRC-20 (Tron), TON, Solana, Polygon, Arbitrum One, Avalanche C-Chain and ERC-20 (Ethereum).

Open the USDT withdrawal screen in Bitso and look at the networks offered there today. Choose one that appears in both lists. If Bitso offers several overlapping options, compare the withdrawal fee shown for each one. Ethereum (ERC-20) transfers typically cost more, and the Sky Trade minimum for ERC-20 is $20.

If there is no overlap at all, don't improvise. Sending on a network Sky Trade doesn't list is the fastest way to lose the transfer.

Step 5: create the Sky Trade deposit and withdraw

  1. In the Sky Trade Wallet, create a USDT deposit on the network you chose. The minimum is $10 on most networks and $15 on TRC-20.
  2. Sky Trade shows a unique address, the exact amount and a QR code. The deposit is valid for 60 minutes; one unpaid deposit can be open at a time.
  3. In Bitso, add the address as a withdrawal destination (if Bitso requires saved addresses, this may take an extra confirmation), select the same network, and enter the amount so that the amount received matches the deposit.
  4. Confirm with Bitso's security steps and wait for the network confirmation.

The deposit is credited automatically once the blockchain confirms it, usually within minutes. If slightly less arrives, Sky Trade credits the received amount and you can send the difference to the same address. Sky Trade charges no deposit fee; Bitso's fees and the network fee are on the sending side.

Network mismatch = no automatic credit. The transfer goes to manual review via support and may be unrecoverable. Separately: trading can lose the full amount of a trade, so deposit only what you can afford to lose.

Common mistakes

  • Picking the network by habit instead of checking what Bitso offers right now.
  • Sending the exact deposit amount without accounting for the withdrawal fee.
  • Letting the 60-minute deposit window expire while waiting for the bank transfer — create the Sky Trade deposit only when the USDT is already in Bitso.
  • Pasting an address from an old deposit. Each deposit has its own address and amount; use the current one.

If you also use P2P

Bitso is an exchange, not a P2P marketplace, so escrow and seller ratings don't apply here. If you ever do buy on a P2P marketplace instead, the usual rules hold: never mark an order as paid before you've paid, keep the chat inside the platform, never pay third parties or accept "refunds" outside the order, and make sure the names on both bank accounts match the verified names.

Frequently asked questions

Can I send USDT from Bitso to Sky Trade?

Yes, if Bitso offers a USDT withdrawal network that Sky Trade also accepts. Check the networks on Bitso's withdrawal screen and select the same one in your Sky Trade deposit.

How do I deposit pesos to Bitso in Mexico?

Commonly by SPEI transfer to the CLABE shown in your Bitso account, from a bank account in your name. Check the current instructions in the app.

Why did less USDT arrive than I sent?

The withdrawal fee is usually deducted from the amount sent. Sky Trade credits the received amount; send the difference to the same address if needed.

Do I need to verify my identity on Bitso?

Yes, Bitso has its own verification. Sky Trade currently asks only for email confirmation, which is needed for withdrawals.

Which network has the lowest fees?

Fees change, so compare them on Bitso's withdrawal screen at the time you send. Choose the cheapest one that Sky Trade also accepts.
