About SOL/USD
Solana is a blockchain launched in 2020 and designed for high transaction throughput and low fees. It uses proof-of-stake together with a timekeeping technique called proof-of-history, and its native token, SOL, pays network fees and is staked by validators. Payment apps, trading applications and stablecoins such as USDT and USDC all run on it.
On Sky Trade, SOL/USD is available only as an OTC instrument. The price you see is generated by Sky Trade's server and does not reflect the real SOL price on any exchange — not even approximately. Network outages, new token launches or crypto-market rallies do not affect it. You are not acquiring SOL by trading it: a trade is a fixed-payout Higher/Lower position on the generated price, and the result is settled in your account balance in US dollars.
The chart is built from a random-walk model updating every 0.5 seconds. Each step is equally likely to go up or down, there is no programmed tendency against traders, and volatility changes slowly over time. The fast-moving crypto narratives that may matter for real SOL simply do not exist here.
Solana does appear on Sky Trade in a different, real role: SOL and USDT/USDC on the Solana network are accepted as deposit options. A deposit is an actual blockchain transfer to your personal deposit address; SOL/USD OTC is a generated chart. Keep the two apart.
How to trade SOL/USD on Sky Trade
- 1Open the terminal and choose the demo account to practise, or the real account if you have deposited.
- 2Pick SOL/USD in the instrument list — the market and OTC versions are listed separately, each with its current payout.
- 3Set the stake and the expiry: a duration (for example 1 minute) or an exact closing time.
- 4Press Buy if you expect the price at expiry to be above the entry price (a “higher” trade), or Sell if you expect it below (a “lower” trade). The payout is fixed at the moment you open.
- 5At expiry the server compares the closing price with the entry price: in your direction — stake plus payout; against you — the stake is lost; exactly equal — the stake is refunded.
