About ASIA 200
ASIA 200 is a synthetic index made for Sky Trade's OTC section. Despite the name, it is not based on Asian stock markets: it does not replicate any real index, contains no companies and is not calculated from any share prices. Its value is generated by Sky Trade's server around the clock.
The word Asia in the name is a label, not a link. When Asian exchanges open, close or have a dramatic day, ASIA 200 does not notice. Regional events, central-bank announcements in Asia or company results do not feed into it, and it does not pause for holidays or weekends. The value is measured in points with one decimal place and is produced by a random-walk model ticking every 0.5 seconds — every step is equally likely to be up or down, volatility rises and falls gradually, and nothing in the model leans against the trader.
In practice that means two things. First, ideas borrowed from equity trading — trading the open, watching futures overnight, playing earnings — have no place here. Second, the direction of a short trade on ASIA 200 is, by the nature of the model, close to a coin flip, while the payout is always below 100% of the stake. Example: at an 80% payout you need to win 55.6% of trades just to break even, which a random walk does not give you. Keep stakes small and treat it as what it is — a generated instrument.

How to trade ASIA 200 on Sky Trade
- 1Open the terminal and choose the demo account to practise, or the real account if you have deposited.
- 2Pick ASIA 200 in the instrument list — the market and OTC versions are listed separately, each with its current payout.
- 3Set the stake and the expiry: a duration (for example 1 minute) or an exact closing time.
- 4Press Buy if you expect the price at expiry to be above the entry price (a “higher” trade), or Sell if you expect it below (a “lower” trade). The payout is fixed at the moment you open.
- 5At expiry the server compares the closing price with the entry price: in your direction — stake plus payout; against you — the stake is lost; exactly equal — the stake is refunded.
